Vocational Training Project
The Vocational Training Project equips unemployed individuals with general agriculture and food processing skills. We aim to empower them with the knowledge and expertise needed to secure employment or start their businesses. The goal is to provide vocational training, entrepreneurship skills, and job placement support.
The Vocational Training Project aims to equip unemployed individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to secure employment or start their own businesses. The project focuses on general agriculture and food processing.
We currently promote the spirit of Agri-business or Agripreneurship and biodiversity conservation in Basic school. The current curriculum by Ghana Education Service does not place much emphasis on Agriculture. The present integrated science concept does not promote agriculture entirely. This has resulted in a weak agriculture enthusiasm foundation for the youth. Promoting food and nutritional security in Ghana and Africa requires a holistic approach. Therefore, UYAS through its network, is collaborating with schools around the Amasaman and the entire Greater Accra to visit our Centre to learn more about Agriculture and the environment. Every week, we expect to have several schools to tour around the centre, where they will learn about livestock farming( Piggery, goats, different breeds of poultry, and dusks, among others.
Among other interesting learning centres is the aquaculture centre. Here, school children will learn practically about fish and their economic relevance. The concept of a school garden will be promoted among teachers while the backyard garden concept will also be promoted among school pupils. UYAS seeks to ensure that by the next 10 years, we will have youth who have an interest in Agribusiness and working as agripreneurs across Ghana and Africa.
